As an Atlanta wedding photographer who is a fan of historic wedding venues, I believe Rhodes Hall is one of the crown jewels of Atlanta. It is also the home of the Georgia Trust. If you don't know, the Georgia Trust saves endangered Houses and Buildings and educates the public on historic resources among many things. As someone who works in historic preservation this makes the venue especially precious to me, but here is a little more information as to why it’s a great place.

Rhodes Hall is a high-profile historic house in the heart of downtown known as the “Castle on Peachtree” and has been an Atlanta landmark for generations. Rhodes Hall was designed in 1904 by one of Atlanta’s most celebrated young architects, Willis F. Denny II, for one of the city’s wealthiest men as the residence of Rhodes Furniture founder Amos Rhodes. The Rhodes family eventually deeded the property to the State of Georgia, who turned the building into the state archives from 1930 to 1965. Today the venue is a house museum and one of the most unique venues in Atlanta for social and corporate events. The upper floors of the “Castle on Peachtree” are also headquarters for The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation since 1983. Rhodes Hall is a wonderful place to host your wedding, as it is truly a marvel and no other venue is like it. Constructed of Stone Mountain granite in the Romanesque Revival style, it holds statewide significance for both the quality and style of its architecture, perfect for a classic elegant feel. Generally described as Romanesque Revival, Rhodes Hall is virtually unparalleled in Georgia as few residential structures were ever built in this architectural style. The interior of Rhodes Hall is one of the finest intact expressions of late Victorian architectural design in the city. The grandest feature is a magnificent series of beautifully restored painted glass windows above a carved mahogany staircase, all perfect settings for your photos. There is a wraparound porch for your guests at cocktail hour. For the bride there is a large bridal suite for changing. In the main room there is a grand staircase and wood paneling that makes a statement.
