Since this is the beginning  of wedding season we will go over some wedding planning tips. The first piece of advice I give any couple is the most important and overlooked: It is your wedding!  When you start to tell your friends or family that you are going to get married they all start to give you advice, but at the end of the day all the wedding decisions are between you and your partner.  Those are the only people you need or can make happy.

A few things you want to discuss with your partner is what kind of wedding do you want?  Do you want a large wedding with lots of guests or just a small ceremony with a few friends and family?  Either way you will be just as married.  If you are going to do a larger wedding you need to discuss your budget.  If you agree on a budget in the beginning then there are no surprises down the road.  You don’t want to start your marriage with a lot of debt. 

For planning purposes I would say getting a location would be one of the first things you need to do because the popular locations book up fast.  Then you can start checking on availability for the rest of your vendors.  It quickly narrows down who is available on your date.  Remember not everyone you want is going to be available on your wedding date but there will be many talented and kind people to help you.

When hiring vendors take the time to interview them to see if your personalities click and if you have the same vision for your wedding.  You will be putting together your team of experts for your wedding and you'll want to feel comfortable around them since you are going to be spending all day with them on a potentially stressful day.  

When you are thinking of details of your wedding I would suggest having fun with it.  You don’t have to have any expensive accessories but you can create details that express your personality and your guests will enjoy the unique experience.
