Atlanta Wedding Photographers Discover You Can Find Love At Anytime In Your Life
As an Atlanta wedding photographer I am always meeting so many wonderful people. This week’s wedding is Judith and Art. They met late in life and found love. I am not going to say how old Judith is (that is something a gentleman does) but Art is 68 and is the older of the two.
They met each other through a mutual friend. They started as friends and started talking more. Judy and Art started going out together first as friends and then they fell in love. Judy’s friends started to notice she was a happier person after going out with Art. She would smile and laugh more easily. There was a sort of spring in her step again. After about a year or two Art asked Judy to marry him.
Judy and Arts wedding was at Whitestone Reserve in Austell, Georgia. It was just down the road from Judy. It is a new venue with a large ballroom, with a stunning large chandelier. There is also a large bridal suite with some great natural light with 5 make up tables for your bridesmaids. They have an outside covered area for your cocktail hour. In the back of the facility there is a large outdoor area for your wedding ceremony that is surrounded by 10 acres of gardens and vineyards. Most importantly the staff were so gracious and helpful throughout the day.
When we got there we started in the bridal room with Judy and her maid of honor. Judy was getting her makeup done and I was taking photos of the wedding dress and other bridal details such as rings and shoes. I then went to the groom’s room where Art the groom and his son Art were getting ready. Art was so thoughtful and I could see why Judy fell in love with such a caring man. Once everyone was dressed it was time for the first look. We placed Art in the back of the facility on the covered porch. We then got Judy to walk up behind him and tap him on the shoulder. He turned around to see the most beautiful woman in the world. I could tell right then they were meant for each other.
The ceremony was held outside where there was an arch and an aisle in the middle for the bride and groom. Judy’s mom came down first then the rest of the bridal party. Judy was escorted by her son. The ceremony was very sweet. The pastor did a great job and shared a few quotes from the bible and sprinkled a few pearls of wisdom from his life. Then Judy and Art exchanged rings and the pastor pronounced them husband and wife!
The best part of the day for me was the toasts. Judy’s maid of honor whom she has known for years made a heartfelt speech on how much happier Judy is with Art in her life. Then it was Art’s son’s turn. He explained to the guests that his mom died of cancer 10 years ago and how it affected him and his dad. He did not think that his dad would find happiness again. He told the guests how glad he was when Judy came into their lives. He was thankful that Judy would be a great partner for his dad. It was a touching moment that made this old wedding photographer tear up a little too. It was a beautiful wedding between two wonderful people and taught me that you are never too old to find love.
